The Rivers State Government under the Administration of His Excellency. Sir Siminalayi Fubara, GSSRS, Governor of Rivers State, hereby invites applications from suitably qualified individuals, with a passion for classroom teaching, for recruitment as teachers into public primary and secondary schools across the state.

This exercise is geared towards strengthening the Basic and Secondary Education sectors by engaging professionals committed to quality teaching and fostering academic excellence.

1. Primary School Teachers in all subject areas.

2. Secondary School Teachers in all subject areas.

Requirements for Rivers State Teachers Recruitment 2026

Applicants must:

1. Possess the Nigeria Certificate in Education (NCE) as the minimum qualification for Primary School Teachers.

2. Possess a minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Education (B.Ed) or Bachelor’s Degree in any Teaching Subject, and a Postgraduate Diploma in Education (PGDE) for Secondary School Teachers.

3. Hold a valid Teachers Registration Council of Nigeria (TRCN) Certificate.

4. Have completed the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) or possess an Exemption Certificate.

5. Demonstrate strong Communication skills.

6. Be computer literate.
