The West African Examinations Council is a sub-regional organisation responsible for conducting various examinations in the English-speaking West African countries.

Applications are hereby invited from qualified persons to fill the vacant positions below in its Nigeria National Office:

Job Title: Assistant Registrar II (Music)

Location: Nigeria
Employment Type: Full-time

Responsibilities

  • Successful applicants will be responsible for the development and moderation of tests in their subjects of specialisation, and will be involved in other examination activities of the Council.

Requirements

  • Candidates should possess a B.A. Music / B.A. (Ed.) (Second Class Lower Division) from a recognised University in Music with 3 years post-qualification teaching experience is required.

General Requirements

  • Candidates must be able to use personal computers, office software packages and have knowledge of web-based systems;
  • They must be self-motivated and able to write good reports, analyse and review research reports.
  • They must be able to work extra hours with little or no supervision.
  • They must be a team player with good inter-personal skills and be open and able to lead change; possess influencing, analytical and communication skills.
  • They must be an organiser/planner with the ability to be flexible and be able to successfully implement ideas.
  • Note: All Applicants must possess five (5) credits in WASSCE / SSCE / GCE ‘O’ Level, including English Language and Mathematics at a sitting, or six (6) credits including English Language and Mathematics, at not more than two (2) sittings.
  • Applicants should not be more than forty (40) years of age as at the close of the advertisement.
  • They must have also undergone the mandatory one (1) year National Youth Service.

Salary and Conditions of Service

  • The salaries paid by the Council are very attractive.
  • Point of entry into the salary scales will depend on qualifications and experience.
