SMEDAN To Partner NANS To Drive Campus Entrepreneurship
The Director General CEO of Small and Medium Enterprises Development Agency of Nigeria SMEDAN, Mr Charles Odii has made a commitment to entrench Entrepreneurship in campuses across the Federation. He said this while speaking to a delegation of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) led by the President Mr Lucky and the Senate President.

The DG expressed the desire of the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu to create millions of jobs, especially for the teeming youths in Nigeria. This he said, can only be possible if the youths are all willing to imbibe the culture of Entrepreneurship and reduce the reliance on white-collar jobs, which are not readily available.
Mr Charles charged the leadership of NANS to come up with reliable data of students, their locations and also ensuring a considerable number of them are female. With the data, the Executive of NANS and SMEDAN will jointly come up with an appropriate intervention programme that will ensure that Entrepreneurship is not just being taught but it also translates to Enterprises run by youths.
He equally informed the delegation of a programme aimed at providing mentorship and internship for students being facilitated by SMEDAN and other partners.
The President of NANS expressed his appreciation to the DG for all the laudable milestones he has established within his short stay in Office. He promised to go back and work with the various Student Union Government in the various institutions to come up with the data and equally brainstorm on how the Agency can support the over 41 million students in Nigeria.
