Students Industrial Work Experience Scheme (SIWES) is a skills training program meant to expose and prepare students from universities, polytechnics/colleges of technology/colleges of agriculture, and colleges of education for the industrial work environment they will encounter after graduation. The program also provides students with the opportunity to become familiar with and gain expertise with equipment and apparatus that are typically not available at their universities. It is a collaborative industrial internship program including higher education institutions, businesses, the Nigerian government, the Industrial Training Fund (ITF), and the Nigerian Universities Commission (NUC).
